LAST WORD
The Light October Leaves Behind
October is a month that teaches us not to hurry. A leaf does not fall all at once; the light does not shorten in a single day. Everything happens slowly, in its own time.
In these pages, we too went in search of that slowness. We lowered our voices around a cup of coffee, joined the grape harvest in Provence, and gazed out at the garden from behind the glass. We readied our bed linen for autumn, embroidered golden branches in the hoop, and brought pumpkin and chestnuts to the table. We paid a little more attention to our skin, our hair and our posture.
Perhaps you won't do all of these things; there's no need to. If just one habit, one recipe or one sentence from this issue finds its way into your life, then October will have left its mark on you.
A good life is shaped by the small beauties we add to it each day.
Hoping to meet again in November, among autumn's other colours.
With love,
