AUTUMN'S NEW COLOUR CODES

October: The Month When Colour Still Meets the Light

October is not the month when the wardrobe darkens overnight.

The sun still makes its presence felt; some days the midday hours are warm, while mornings and evenings are cool. Summer's lightness is behind us, yet winter's weight has not yet begun.

That is exactly why the October wardrobe holds such a special place between two seasons.

This month in the ZARİF YAŞAM Fashion & Style edit, we greet autumn not with dark colours but with luminous neutrals, warm chestnut tones, a measured mahogany and an unexpected blue.

In silhouettes, two of the season's strongest pieces take centre stage:

The midi skirt and the culotte.

THE OCTOBER PALETTE

Cream · Ivory · Vanilla

The light of the collection.

Throughout October, light tones will remain in most looks. Cream knits, ivory shirts, vanilla jackets, light-coloured skirts and airy outerwear will keep autumn colours from becoming heavy.

We'll use these shades not only as accents but as the main colour of a look.

Warm Chestnut

A chestnut that evokes autumn without carrying us into November.

Instead of very dark browns, we'll lean towards light chestnut, cognac and warm cinnamon-chestnut tones.

A suede jacket, a culotte, a midi skirt, a slim belt, boots or a structured bag…

In this collection chestnut will speak of autumn, but it won't darken the look.

Mahogany Red

October's colour of depth.

But we won't wear mahogany from head to toe.

A mahogany skirt paired with an ivory silk shirt, a mahogany culotte peeking out beneath a cream knit, or a mahogany jacket over a light-coloured look…

The colour will be strong; the outfit will stay light.

The Unexpected Blue

And October's surprise.

The autumn wardrobe doesn't have to consist only of browns, beiges and burgundies.

That is why a clear, vivid and elegant blue enters the collection.

A blue that doesn't close into navy; one that carries the vibrancy of royal blue yet is easy to wear in everyday life.

Sometimes a jacket, sometimes a culotte, sometimes a fine knit…

Among October's warm colours, blue will give the collection room to breathe.

THE COLLECTION'S KEY PIECES

1. The Culotte

One of the star pieces of the October collection.

But we're not talking about an ordinary pair of wide-leg trousers.

We have in mind an elegant culotte with a clean waistline and very wide legs, in a fabric that moves as you walk and at first glance gives the impression of a midi skirt.

It could appear in the collection in three interpretations:

A warm chestnut culotte — with a cream or vanilla knit.

An ivory culotte — with a mahogany or chestnut top.

A blue culotte — with an ivory shirt or a fine cream knit.

2. The Midi Skirt

Alongside the culotte, we're not leaving the classic midi skirt behind.

We'll wear softly A-line, gracefully pleated or fluid styles.

But we won't move on to heavy winter fabrics just yet.

The skirt should move; it should keep the feeling of October's transitional season.

3. The Fine Knit

Chunky jumpers can wait.

For October we'll choose fine, high-quality knits that drape without clinging to the body.

Cream, vanilla, light chestnut and, when called for, blue…

Pieces that can be worn on their own or layered beneath a jacket or a light coat.

4. Silk and Satin Shirts

The pieces that bring light to the autumn collection.

We'll wear them especially in ivory and warm cream.

Paired with a mahogany or chestnut bottom, they instantly lighten the look.

In evening looks, they take the place of the knit and carry the same skirt or culotte into something more elegant.

5. Jackets

October's true outerwear piece is the jacket.

Structured but never stiff blazers, cropped suede jackets and light wool styles…

Chestnut, cream, light camel and the unexpected blue could be the collection's key jacket colours.

6. Light Coats and Trench Coats

No heavy winter coats yet.

We'll wear fluid trench coats, long jackets in fine wool and light coats.

Light camel, stone, cream and, when called for, a strong blue…

That way, even the outerwear won't darken the collection.

SHOES

In October we can wear both closed shoes and the first boots of the season.

Loafers, elegant slingbacks or closed-toe heels, ankle boots and, when the weather turns cooler, knee-high boots will join the collection.

For shoes, chestnut, cognac, cream and mahogany all work.

We won't finish every look with black shoes.

BAGS & ACCESSORIES

For bags, we'll carry structured medium-sized styles, soft leather shoulder bags and small, elegant bags for the evening.

Jewellery, meanwhile, won't take over the look.

Warm gold tones, delicate earrings, slim bangles and, when called for, a single statement piece.

Belts will be especially important for defining the waistline on culottes and midi skirts.

FROM DAY TO EVENING

We want the October collection not only to look beautiful but to be worn in real life.

So rather than putting a look together in the morning and changing it completely in the evening, we'll transform the same key piece throughout the day.

Morning

Chestnut culotte + fine vanilla knit + loafers + large leather bag.

Afternoon

The culotte stays the same.

A light cream jacket goes on top; ankle boots can take the place of loafers.

Evening

Still the same culotte.

An ivory silk blouse replaces the knit. A small bag, elegant heels and gold earrings are added.

One piece. Three different moments.

OCTOBER'S TEXTURES

Texture matters as much as colour.

In this collection:

fine wool · knitwear · suede · soft leather · silk · satin · fluid fabrics

will be worn together.

But we won't yet reach for heavy velvet, very thick wools, dense fur textures or wintry layers.

Their time will come.

OCTOBER'S VISUAL WORLD

This collection won't live in dark studios.

Sunlit city streets, pale stone façades, cream architecture, elegant cafés, bright interiors and autumn days when the sun can still be felt…

Autumn may show in the trees; but not everything will be covered in brown, withered leaves.

Because our story isn't winter.

We're still in October.
